The  ICO  honeymoon period is well and truly over.
After the 2017 and early 2018 bull market, ICO funding levels hit their lowest levels this year in September and October. Many reasons have been suggested for this dry spell, from government regulation to investor distrust in the ICO model.
Whether we are witnessing the death of the ICO, a temporary blip, or even a maturing of the market, one thing is clear: approaches to raising funding for blockchain startups need to adapt to these new realities swiftly.

The ICO market is not dead, but changing. We need to believe the change and should support it.

In last two years many ICO's fade away with their investors moneys and today the ICO's are something which has horror. So i could say yes, dead or dying..

Yes, ofcourse died! In 2018 more than %85 ICO projects turned SCAM in some how. The people lost their beliefs to ICO's just like me!

  • #/ Half Past Dead /#

There has been a great deal of frauds and false promises in the ICO space and ratings are simply of minus value.. However they are not completely dead.. There are still ICOs happening where the investors are now more aware and more wary.. there are people who are being stricter in their due diligence and ref checks.. and that is the evolution which has taken place in this space now..

of course there are still some who would just believe anything.. but they are much lesser in number now.. and that is how evolution takes place..

People are now in the once bitten twice shy zone.. this will take the industry to a more stable and reliable phase of it's life cycle where ICO in the future would be regulated and fraudsters will have repercussions..

They are not dead, look no further than Binance's Launchpad new name but it's the same thing!

ICO's still live, they're just not allowing investors from the US and a few other places to avoid the SEC

Not yet dead but certainly on the verge of dying. There are several reasons for this. Let me lost out few of those,

1. Lack of credibility
2. Lack of experience of the ICO owners in running a successful business
3. Increasing number of scammers
4. Lack of regulation in crypto space

With how most project came into being by ICO model and many said project failed drastically, with others havin fraudulent activities written all over it. The ICO model is evolving nowadays to a way of raising funds where a project team can be held ACCOUNTABLE for every funds raised.
