By 2030 the fight for robot rights will have started, ai will be fully integrated into many aspects of society and there will be huge backlash and resentment from certain groups of people.
By the year 2038 certain robots will be granted limited rights, but they will not be really enforced, it will be a place holder until 2042 when the robot protection act will be implemented granting full anti discrimination, autonomy rights, and marriage rights to robots that qualify as sentient.

A little detailed don’t you think, could I be a time traveler?
hahahaha🤣✌️

As far as i know the robots will have their rights in 2049. A roboticist Dr David Hanson, who developed an advanced humanoid robot has predicted that artificially intelligent androids will be given civil rights within 30 years. And this is something weird for me.

It depends on how long does it take to us to develop emotional intelligence.
As technology is growing exponentially we may find it in 2035-40

Finally nobody knows exactly when

Never . No matter how much robots evolve, we humans will never share our rights that is not homo sapiens.
This is just matter of time till robots evolve to develop conscience and emotional intelligence. But we as human will always have the final kill switch to it. As soon as there is some indication of that, everything will be reset again. It will never reach to a point that they will ask for rights.
Worst case scenario, robots will be completely destroyed. But we will never put robots and human on same pedestal.

I think the best question here is "what do we need to ensure before giving 'something' universal rights or universal duties?" I see it as the inverse of defining if someone with psychological trauma can stand a trial and understand its legal charges.

So a simple list may be:

  • Self Consciousness
  • Some level of intelligence and problem solving capabilities
  • Notion of right and wrong, responsibility over its own decisions
  • Some notion of its own body, so it's not considered a union of mechanical parts, but a single being

As long as they dont have a concience then they will never ask for any 😆

I am a futurist,And based on the current situation, I am sure this is going to happen very soon.

Day will come when Robots will be more superior and will have more rights than their creator.

I think the first real intelligent robots will be a combination or computing technology and non-human mammals. Possibly a dog or chimp.

So the same way domesticated animal are protected and have right, this new type of animal will have them too. I assume this will happen by 2030.

Most people focus on the humanoid type robots you see in the movies. There will be laws that block and slow down the pace of that.

It only logical to think that this technology will be tested and perfected on other intelligent mammals first.
