Should governments make laws to protect people from hurting themselves?

First of all this law would be useless and do more bad than good. There is no way to regulate this and on top of that this would make it worse for people who are doing those things to look for help since they may be scared of consequences of the laws then, depending on what laws you have in mind.

Not ofcourse! We can give our decisions in good or in bad ways. Responsibility would be ours. We are not slaves and we need to decide for ourselves.

A MAN SHOULD BE FREE TO CHOOSE FOR HIMSELF, EVEN IF THAT INCLUDES HURTING OR KILLING HIMSELF !

Θ↑Θ ** Legally...You Can't die **

Laws against hurting oneself are already in existence but i don't feel that these laws have ever deterred anyone if they are already thinking of dropping everything in life..!! on the contrary if they are aware of the law then they will find a fool proof way to hurt or kill themselves..!!! i feel compulsory counselling would be more relevant and much required in these cases..

Rectify rather than Punish :o)

It is within our rights to do whatever we want to ourselves. So I don't think there should be any laws on us hurting ourselves. Althiugh the idea of a person having the urge to hurt his own body is somewhat crazy, it should be up to that person to decide. After all, he is not inflicting pain to anyone else. Maybe that person is just out of his mind. then we should let him be 😆

Well as far as I know you can go to jail for committing suicide in Muslim countries.Thats why suicide rates are usually low over there.

Yes there should be a law against hurting one's self as most people are disabled, be it emotional or physical and the consequence of said harm might not only harm the person but those around them
