What country fascinates you, but have little to no desire to actually visit and why?

Syria

First and foremost, the history of the place is very deep. It's part of the crossroads of the history mankind since the beginning.

The more obvious reason is that it's a brutal war zone but so many people still work and live their daily lives there. I'm fascinated to see what that is like and to understand the people and society beyond what the news shows.

Endonesia excites me with its 1000s of islands. As far as i know there are 18,307 islands in there and nearly 300 millions of people lives in those island.

Vietnam could be an interesting cultural experience. But it's so far, I can imagine how many days it would take to get there.

I would like to go to the Brasil, specially in the Rio Carnival times. Also i want to see the Favelas in Sao Paulo.

I am fascinated with Russia. The pictures I have seen of the place are so spectacular. The building I think are like no other. I would not visit Russia because so much turmoil is going on between the United State and Russia at the moment. Corruption I believe.
