There is a roughly 1 in 8,000,000,000,000 chance of life on any given planet reaching where we are now. That’s 1 in 8 trillion. (I don’t know if it extends to moons.) So essentially, with the total of 10 trillion plants in our galaxy, then there is a chance that we are not alone. And note the “where we are now.” So, we might have multiple planets with life. Isn’t that exciting?! Oh wait… theoretical probability versus experimental probability… um, we shouldn’t be here. Logically, that chance would never get landed on. So we may be alone in our galaxy, and if we don’t expand our space programs to solar-system-escaping capacity with manned shuttles, we will never go beyond the milky way. We are, for all intents and purposes, alone. With a galactic playground. And guess what? It’s so big, there are no adults to safety-proof it. It will be just as dangerous and thrilling and exciting in one billion years. Humanity has prospects.
Let’s make use of them.
