10 years ago, I was in Venezuela watching my country being destroyed bit by bit by the revolution of the 21st century, in addition to seeing with sadness how President Hugo Chavez gave the riches of Venezuela to many countries: for all that in August In 2017 I decided to take my family out of the country and four months later I left.

Ten years ago i was a slave in my own house.. all i could do was what my husband wanted me to do and all that i could think was what he wanted me to think... my own thoughts were hardly of any value!!! we had sold our shop and retired and i was struggling to figure out... "what next!!???"

This question brings a lot of nostalgia. We used to reside in a small town of India.

There are two major things and remembering those still gives me goosebumps:

1) I was in Class X preparing for my board exams. I was in ISCE board. There were 11 subjects at that time [2 English, 2 Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, H&C, Geography, Maths, Computer] and it was really tough to complete the syllabus. I scored a decent 95% later year, excluding English which was screwed as usual :(

2) I fell for a girl in Class 8th and this year [2009] was the last chance to express my feelings to her (we would have to move probably to different schools). Hormonal growth was at its peak and I realised what falling in love is like. Each passing day was killing me. But there were lot of things to handle: exams, preparing for rejection etc.

Entire year passed in preparing for exams and making plans to propose her.

10 years ago, I just got placed in a company far from my home/parents/relative/friends. It was a new experience, learnt lot of new things, understood few things about people and external world how it treats you, also how you behave with others etc etc. It was joyful initial days of my career.

I had spent a few years learning a new technology called Virtualization . At that time most people had never heard of this technology that allowed you to run several software base computers on one machine. It was amazing to see at the time.

The company(VMware) behind the technology had just gone public on wall street and market was buzz of how this would revolutionize the industry.

We all though it would make the most changes in the enterprise space. Fast forward to today, and virtualization made the most changes in the cloud hosting industry. In fact Amazon AWS would not be what it is today without it.

Most people don't realize this but Netflix run on AWS. I have no doubt it using virtualization to host parts of it's streaming service.
